TO: Hamilton Green, Chairman of the Board
FROM: Mark Jacobs, Land Allocation Committee
DATE: 29th April, 2016
SUBJECT : Resignation from CHPA Board
Dear Mr. Green:
As Chairman of the Land Allocation Committee, I’ve stumbled upon billions in fraud, mismanagement and corruption at Central Housing & Planning Authority.
The little that we’ve found is only the tip of the iceberg as we are not privy to information and details on many important transactions and dealings of CHPA and we are not in receipt of an audit report.
We have recommended at Committee level that a number of persons be sent on administrative leave and that legal advice be sought for recovering stolen assets and instituting criminal charges against officers and other within the agency responsible for known illegal activities.
While I respect your decision to work in peace and give management another chance, I do not agree with it given what I’ve uncovered so far in my short sojourn.
I am at odds with the APNU AFC govt position of appeasement and redemption for persons who have flagrantly violated their oath of office and the laws of Guyana.
If the current management is allowed to remain in place, I cannot in good conscience remain as board member and will tender my resignation effective May 1st, 2016.
All for your information and guidance.
Chair, Land Allocation Committee
Ronald Bulkan, MInister of Communities.
