GTT telecommunication towers

Members Jacobs,

In relation to your inquiry please note the following:

1. An application was received by the CHPA for a telecommunication tower at Lot 18 Bartica on September 5, 2016.

2. An inspection for the site was thereafter conducted.

3. A letter was then sent to the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority dated November 11, 2016 requesting comments/ no objection; to date there is no response.

4. In relation to the tower at Albouystown – there is no information in the system for this location.

5. There is however another application for a tower at West Ruimveldt by GTT for which we are still awaiting comments/ no objection from the Ogle Airport Inc. Comments were already received from the Ministry of Public Infrastructure (September 20, 2016) and the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (September 19, 2016).

All for your information.

Thanks Mr. Jacobs for your question. However before I can properly respond may I ask which location you are referring to. I think we have processed some applications for GTT for telecommunication towers for different locations during this period. I will now peruse the records.

Subject: complaints from GT&T about 2015 tower application
Ms. Azore;

I received a call from the CEO of GT&T about an application they made for two towers in 2015.

Based on the information provided they are of the opinion that CH&PA is sabotaging their application. A representative from Guyana Civil Aviation Authority named Bashir told GT&T he submitted a no objection letter to CH&PA since May 2016.

What is the status of this application and why hasn’t it been processed yet?

thanks in advance,
humble regards,

Mark Jacobs

Re: Designs for the three areas

Mr. Jacobs,
The designs for the three areas were completed and were presented yesterday, 8 September, at the Ministry of Communities.
As per our procedure the next step would be to forward the designs to the engineers for them to review and comment and commence the preparation of estimates, engineering drawings and so on.
This next step was also discussed yesterday and the engineers are to prepare the relevant documentation for next Thursday.
This is what was communicated to me since I did not attend the meeting.
If further information is needed, like the actual designs and preliminary design brief, I will be able to share these with you on Tuesday.
Regards,
Fayola Azore

Dear Mr. Jacobs,

Please note that a meeting was held today with Minister Bulkan, PS McGarrell and members of the Chinese company where the designs for the three areas were discussed among other things. Minister Bulkan indicated that you may have some comments on the key elements that should be incorporated into the design that were discussed in previous meetings with the said team that would have included Mr. Edinboro. I think we had some miscommunication in relation to what was expected for the designs of these areas internally and we are working to complete same. Minister also requested that a meeting be held on Tuesday with the Board, where the broad concept for the redesign of the areas can be presented and discussed. The meeting will be held at 4pm at the Ministry of Communities.

The areas that will be looked at includes Little and Great Diamond, Cummings Lodge and La Penitence. We will no longer look at Perseverance.

All for your information.
